MaryAnn Short (P/T)

MaryAnn earned her Master of Arts degree in Elementary Administration from Central Michigan University in 1992 & her Bachelors of Science in Physical Education from Aquinas College in 1986. She has 28 years combined teaching experience in the Classroom & Physical Education as well as coaching junior varsity and varsity sports. In 2007 MaryAnn received her Brain Gym Instructor license & in 2008 became a Practitioner/Trainer of Bal-A-Vis-X. She has been a Visiting & Adjunct Professor in the Movement Science Department at Grand Valley State University. MaryAnn retired from teaching 6th grade classroom & PreK-5th grade Physical Education/Health for Saugatuck Public Schools in 2014.

MaryAnn has presented introductory, Movement based Brain/Body integration in-services for elementary school teachers & presented at Health, Physical Education & Math conferences. She has also conducted Bal-A-Vis-X experiences including Adaptive & Trauma Informed modifications for public / private school teachers, councilors, occupational therapists, physical therapists, vision & speech therapists as well as Parents. MaryAnn has developed a successful business that has continued to grow over the past 15 years & works with individuals/groups ages 6 – 90 to design personalized integrative movement routines to develop the brain/body system as well as working with schools to implement Integrative movement into the academic setting.
